Beyond Good and Bad: The Power of Balance
Share
When we ask “what is good and what is bad?” the common answer is simple - good is something we like, bad is something we don’t. But the truth is deeper: there is no absolute good or bad. There is only balance.
Think of the fox and the chicken.
The fox sneaks into the barn and takes a chicken, which is "bad." But the fox is simply feeding her hungry cubs - so is she really wrong? In that moment, she restores balance for her family. Yet when the farmer arrives with a shotgun to protect his flock, suddenly he becomes the one who is “right.” Power shifts the perspective of good and bad.
Despite this example showing you how things are balanced, sadly there is another pattern you can often spot in our world. The greater power get to decide what is bad or good. We now can see we have terrorists, wrong tones of "color", countries that "we need to democratize" or religions we don't want to greet. If I would ask you, who is the most powerful in the world, you would also answer who is deciding the roles of bad and good.
But power is not an endless recourse. And for someone it is about to end. And there is a farmer about to wake up and find out what the fox did.
This is how the world works: balance always seeks to restore itself.
But let's see what we can do to keep ourselves balanced. If someone treats you unfairly, mirror their actions back. If someone helps you, give them back ten times more. But most importantly, don't ever be the one who is treating someone wrong. Cause you don't know how it will reach you back.
Good luck
